NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. THE CONTEST IS OPEN ONLY TO LEGAL RESIDENTS OF THE 50 UNITED STATES AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, 18 YEAR OF AGE OR OLDER AS OF THE DATE OF ENTRY. VOID IN PUERTO RICO, U.S. TERRITORIES AND U.S. MILITARY BASES OUTSIDE OF THE U.S. AND WHERE PROHIBITED.

CONTEST DESCRIPTION: The Global Green USA's Green School Makeover Competition Presented by Pureology (the "Contest") sponsored by Pureology, Professional Products Division of L'Oreal USA, Inc. (the "Sponsor") is a skill competition and open to the general consumer public. The Contest’s focus is to bring awareness to Global Green USA’s commitment to the environment and their current Green Schools campaign which promotes schools to be designed, built, renovated or operated in an ecological and resource-efficient manner reducing overall impact on the environment and saving schools money while improving students' health and performance. Consumers are invited to enter the contest by submitting a short description of what improvements could be made to their school to create a more "Green" environment as well as photos of their school. Entrants will be given the opportunity to enter for a chance to win a Green Makeover for the local school. For the purpose of the Contest, a school is defined as any public, private or charter school with students grades of Kindergarten to 12th.

ELIGIBILITY:  Contest is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District Of Columbia, 18 years of age or older at time of entry. Employees of Sponsor, its parent company, affiliates, subsidiaries, divisions, advertising and promotion agencies, and Marden-Kane, Inc., (the "Releasees") and their immediate families (spouse, parents, children, and siblings and their respective spouses) and individuals living in the same households of such persons are ineligible to enter or win. Void in Puerto Rico, U.S. Territories and U.S. Military bases outside of the U.S. and where prohibited by law. Subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws.

START AND END DATES: The Contest begins 12:00:01 a.m. ET ("Eastern Time") on March 1, 2011 and ends 11:59:59 p.m. ET on September 30, 2011 (the "Entry Period"). Entries must be submitted by 11:59:59 pm ET on September 30, 2011. Each person who submits an entry fully and unconditionally agrees to comply with and abide by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judges, the Administrator and Sponsor, which shall be final and binding in all respects.

HOW TO ENTER: Anytime during the Entry Period, go online to: GreenSchools.Pureology.com and complete the requested entry instructions including the following:
1.   Provide your name, home address, phone number and email address.
2.   Provide your school’s name, address and phone number.
3.   Provide the name of your school’s principal, phone number and email address.
4.   Check the following:
 •       Public
•       Private
•       Charter
•       Grades
      Elementary School (K – 5th) 
      Middle School (6th – 8th) 
      High School (9th – 12th)
5.   Create an Essay about your school in response to the following three questions.
      Describeyour school's top 3 “Green” challenges (200 words)
      In what way would your school benefit from being "Green" (100 Words)
      Describeyour proposal for a Green Makeover project and if it will be used in teaching.(300 words)
6.   Attach 3-5 School photos that show your school facility, key people involved in theproject and if possible demonstrate the green project being proposed or schoolfacility being improved (Photos must be JPEGs less than 500 kb).
7.   Attach optional link to video(no larger than 100 MB).

Once you have completed your Entry, click the “Submit” button to enter. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for late, incomplete, lost, misdirected or undeliverable entries.   

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS & GUIDELINES:
• An “Entry” is defined, for purposes of this contest, as including only the Entry Form and requested school photos. Any additional materials submitted with Entry (i.e., video, extra photos, newspaper clippings, etc.) will not be judged, will not be acknowledged or returned. 
•  Each Entry submitted online must be COMPLETELY filled out.
•  Language: Essay must be submitted in English. 
•  Entrant certifies that the submission is his/her original work and that he/she has all rights to the submission; that it has not been previously entered into another contest, published, released, or distributed; and is suitable for the Contest. 
•  Entry must not include trademarks, logos, or copyrighted material not owned by Entrant (including but not limited to company names, music, photographs, works of art, or images published on or in websites, television, movies, or other media) or otherwise infringe or violate the rights of any third party, including but not limited to, copyrights, trademarks, patents, trade secrets, logos, contract and licensing rights, rights of publicity or privacy, moral rights, or any other intellectual property rights; 
• Entrants irrevocably assign to Sponsor with full title guarantee all intellectual property and other rights, which they now have or may in the future have to the Entry, or any elements there of, including without limitation, the copyright therein, the right to make derivative works, copies and to use for any purpose whatsoever all media, royalty-free worldwide perpetuity. Sponsor shall have the right to assign or dispose of such Entries however it sees fit without approval of the Entrant. 
• Entries must not contain material that is inappropriate, indecent, obscene, hateful, tortuous, defamatory, slanderous or libelous, and must not contain material that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age; and must not contain material that is unlawful, in violation of or contrary to the laws or regulations where entry was submitted. Sponsor reserves the right to review and/or disqualify any and all elements deemed by Sponsor, in its sole discretion, to be inappropriate, offensive, or otherwise unacceptable.
•  Sponsor is under no obligation to correspond about Entries and Entries will not be acknowledged or returned.  
•  Entries that do not comply with the Official Rules may be disqualified.

Entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. Byentering the contest, you agree to all of the terms and conditions of Sponsor’sPrivacy Policy, which is available at http://www.pureology.com/privacy-policy.Any entry information collected from the promotion shall be used only in amanner consistent with the consent given by entrants at the time of entry, withthese Official Rules, and with Sponsor’s Online Privacy Policy. Sponsor hascontracted Marden-Kane, an independent third party administrator.  The entry information is shared withMarden-Kane for the sole purpose of the selection, notification, and thefulfillment of the prizes.  

JUDGING:  Beginning October 1, 2011, all eligible entries will bejudged in relation to the following criteria: 
Clarity and Description of Green Challenges and need for makeover (50%) 
Effectively communicates green school proposal (45%)
Relevance of photos to them (5%) 

On or about November 1, 2011, the ten (10) judged entrieswith the highest overall score using the above judging criteria as determinedby a panel of expert judges and Redken Representatives (collectively, the“Judges”) under the supervision of Marden-Kane Inc., the Contest Administratorand an independent judging organization (“Marden-Kane”) will be deemed the Semifinalists (the “Semifinalists”) pending verification of eligibility. On or about December 1, 2011, the Semifinalists and their respective schools will becontacted by the Judges’ representatives to participate in an interview whichwill include the  confirmation ofthe following requirements necessary to receive the prize: 1) principal or headof facilities signature of a statement confirming that they can and will accommodate the proposed school makeover within the timeframe of thecompetition; the Green School makeover process can be photographed and videographed for media purposes; the Green School Makeover Project will be maintained for 5 years. Based on the interview as well as the judging criteria, the Semifinalists will be re-judged and the entry with the highest overall score will be deemed the Grand Prize Winner.  The next four (4) highest scored entries will be deemed the Finalists. 

In the event of a tie during any portion of the judging process, the entries involved in the tieare subject to review by an additional judge who will serve as a tiebreaker andwho will evaluate entries according to the criteria listed above.  Decisions of judges are final andbinding on all matters relating to this Contest. Becoming a Semifinalist issubject to validation and verification of eligibility and compliance with allterms and conditions set forth in these Official Rules. 

PRIZES: One (1) Grand Prize:  A Green School Makeover. The Grand Prize Winner’s school willreceive a green makeover of their school from GGUSA including supplies andlabor costs. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) $65,000. Four (4) Finalist Prizes: A $2,500 check from GGUSA towards their Green upgrades. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”)$2,500 ea.  All prizes will beawarded to the school of the Grand and Finalist Winners identified in theentry.  All taxes are the soleresponsibility of each school. Approximate Retail Value of all prizes: $75,000. 

SEMIFINALIST NOTIFICATION:  The ten (10) Semifinalists will be contacted by email and/orover night courier within 7 days after their determination, on or about November8, 2011.  Each potentialSemifinalist will be required to complete, sign and properly execute an Affidavitof Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release and their school will berequired to complete a Request for Taxpayer Identification Number andCertification Form (W-9) and return same via facsimile within 3 business daysof notification (and subsequently by mail which must be received byAdministrator within 7 days after facsimile/email).  In the event an insufficient number of qualified eligibleentries are received during the Contest Entry Period, Sponsor reserves theright to award fewer than the number of prizes indicated in these rules. If apotential Winner can not be reached or required documents are not returnedwithin the stated timeframe or are returned as undeliverable, the correspondingpotential winner will be disqualified and an alternate Semifinalist will bedetermined based on the Judging Criteria. The Grand Prize winner and Finalist winners will be contacted on oraround December 27, 2011. Non winning Semifinalists will not be notified. 

REPRESENTATIONS AND WARRANTIES/INDEMNIFICATION:  Each personwho enters this Contest represents and warrants to Sponsor as follows: (i)Entrant has the full right and legal capacity to agree to these official rulesand is not a party to any agreement that would condition or restrict Entrant’sability to enter into this agreement; (ii) Entrant is the sole and exclusiveowner of the Entry, and the Entry is previously unpublished, and previouslyunproduced work; (iii) the rights granted to Sponsor via these Official Rules,including public display, use and reproduction of Entrant’s Entry will notviolate or infringe upon the copyright, literary, privacy, publicity,trademark, service mark or any other personal property right of any person orentity and Entrant’s Entry will not constitute a libel or defamation of anythird party; (iv) the Entry is wholly original with entrant and as of the dateof submission, is not the subject of any actual or threatened litigation orclaim; (v) the Entry does not and will not violate any applicable laws, and isnot and will not be defamatory, libelous, pornographic, or obscene as decidedby the selection committee, in their sole discretion.  

By participating,each entrant irrevocably grants Sponsor and its agents an unlimited, worldwide,perpetual, license and right to publish, use, publicly display the entry in anyway, in any and all media (including but not limited to the Contest Site),without limitation, and without consideration to the entrant, including havinghis/her winning entry, name, and/or school location included in other marketingmaterials without any financial or other compensation, except where prohibitedby law.  Each entrant hereby agreesto indemnify, defend and hold the "Releasees" (defined below)harmless from and against any and all third party claims, actions or proceedings of any kind and from any and all damages, liabilities, costs andexpenses relating to or arising out of any breach or alleged breach of any ofthe warranties, representations or agreements of entrant hereunder.

ADDITIONAL TERMS AND RESTRICTIONS:  Any attempt by an entrant or any other individual todeliberately damage any online service or web site, tamper with the Contestprocess, or otherwise underminethe legitimate operation of the Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should suchan attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages and/or otherremedies from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.  Failure to enforce any term of theseOfficial Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.  If for any reason the Contest is notcapable of being executed as planned, or infection by computer virus, bugs,tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, action of entrants, technicalfailures or any other causes beyond the control of Sponsor, corrupt or affectthe administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Contest. Sponsor reserves the right at their solediscretion to disqualify any suspect entry or entrantand/or to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest and/or award theprizes from among all eligible, non-suspect entries received as of the date ofthe termination, as Sponsor determines in its sole discretion.  Entries not complying with all rulesare subject to disqualification. No correspondence regarding entries will be entered into with entrants other than the potentialwinners.  Inthe event of a dispute as to the identity of a winner based on an e-mailaddress, the winning entry will be declared made by the authorized accountholder of the e-mail address submitted at time of entry.  “Authorized account holder” is definedas the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internetaccess provider, on-line service provider or other organization (e.g.,business, educational, institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigningE-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. 

NATURE OF RELATIONSHIP / WAIVER OF EQUITABLE RELIEF: Each entrant hereby acknowledgesand agrees that the relationship between the entrant and Sponsor is not aconfidential, fiduciary, or other special relationship, and that the entrant’sdecision to provide the entrant’s photo to Sponsor for purposes of the Contestdoes not place Sponsor in a position that is any different from the positionheld by members of the general public with regard to elements of the entrant’sphoto.  Each entrant acknowledgesand agrees that Sponsor does not now and shall not have in the future any dutyor liability, direct or indirect, vicarious, contributory, or otherwise, withrespect to the infringement or protection of the copyright in and to thephoto.  Finally, the entrantacknowledges that, with respect to any claim by entrant relating to or arisingout of Sponsor’s actual or alleged exploitation or use of any photo or othermaterial submitted in connection with the Contest, the damage, if any, therebycaused to the applicable entrant will not be irreparable or otherwisesufficient to entitle such entrant to seek injunctive or other equitable reliefor in any way enjoin the production, distribution, exhibition or otherexploitation of the photo or any other production based on or allegedly basedon the photo and entrant’s rights and remedies in any such event shall bestrictly limited to the right to recover damages, if any, in an action at law. 

DISPUTES: Except where prohibited, allissues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation andenforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of theentrant and Sponsor in connection with the Contest, shall be governed by, andconstrued in accordance with, the laws of the United States and the State ofNew York, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules(whether of the State of New York, or any other jurisdiction), which wouldcause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State ofNew York.

RELEASE: Neither L’Oréal USA, Inc. nor itsrespective parent company,affiliates, subsidiaries, divisions, advertising and promotion agencies,including Marden-Kane, Inc., and their respective officers, directors,shareholders and employees (collectively “Releasees”) nor any telephone networkor service providers shall have liability and shall be heldharmless for any property damage, loss or personal injury or death to a winneror any third party resulting from participation in this Contest or for anylate, lost, damaged or incomplete submissions or for the use (including anytravel related hereto) or misuse of any prize; nor forincorrect or inaccurate transcription of entry information, or for any human or other error, technical malfunctions, lost/delayed datatransmission, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, line failures of anytelephone network, computer equipment, software, inability to access any onlineservice or web site, or any other error or malfunction, or any injury or damageto participant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting fromparticipation in this Contest, or for any injury toperson or property, including but not limited to photo equipment, arising fromthe entrant’s participation in this Contest or anyContest-related activity or from the acceptance, receipt, possession, use ormisuse of any prize won.
