What is hair toner? A hair toner is a demi- or semi-permanent color formula that uses pigment to enhance, brighten or tone your hair color to your coveted shade. It won’t completely alter the color of your hair, but slightly adjust it until you make it to your next salon appointment for professional coloring services.

Toners can be used to add pigment to hair color that had faded over time, or counteract and neutralize unwanted colors like yellow or orange. That’s why we offer Top Coat + Tone in two toning formulas, plus a shiny gloss. Gold, Copper and Red are direct dyes that revive your faded color, while Purple and Blue are neutralizers that cancel out some of the color opposite from them on the color wheel (purple will cancel out yellow, while blue cancels out orange). All formulas are a hair gloss that leave a long-lasting shine.
