Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stripped the color from my hair!! I bought this today 10/04/18 and used it for the first time today. I have dyed Blue black hair color, before the black it was royal blue. I noticed in the sink it was pulling more color from my hair than a shampoo used for stripping the color away. I then applied the conditioner which didn't remove any color. After towel drying I noticed a lot of bright blue in my hair. My hair was black... so I blow dryer it and as it was drying I see the shine leaving my hair. I added photos to show how bad it damaged my hair. I spent $70 pureology strength cure system and it ruined my hair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't understand the negative reviews I can't help but wonder if those giving low reviews didn't purchase a counterfeit product elsewhere because this is the most luxe shampoo I've ever used and I have tried oh so many. The scent is a mix of baby powder and floral, just wonderful, but not overpowering. The lather is amazingly full and it leaves my thick wavy hair feeling better than any salon day.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Gross. I can't believe that you discontinued Essential Repair for this garbage. This smells like a dumpster fire and leaves hair feeling gross. What are you doing Pureology? You had such amazing products but in the last few years, you've discontinued the good ones and replaced them with horrible ones!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Coats your hair A few weeks ago, I 'treated' myself to a bottle of this shampoo. I used Pureology products approximately 5 years ago and loved them. They were expensive, but made my hair look and feel great. And now - wow, am I so disappointed. Using this product, my hair feels overly coated and dirty. I have tried to use this shampoo once a week, as an in between, but it is just not worth it. My hair looks and feels terrible.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ultra gentle I have contact dermatitis, I recently switched from another top shelf brand that didn't do what it said, but also left my scalp in welps and scabs. I also have 4 xs chemically treated hair on top of 3B curly, highly porous hair...lets just say I've tried everything to find that perfect balance of no allergic reaction and also works for my hair. Found it in the strength cure line. This...is just amazing. I feel as if it cleans my scalp, but also conditions it. Along with the conditioner and mask...its just heaven. My only complaint...THE SMELL. I'm also extremely scent sensitive...my eyes will water, my stomach will feel sick, I'll get a migraine...although pureology smells better than what it used to...it still smells HORRIBLE "aromatherapy" is what they're calling it, but it is STRONG like cheap perfume ...and it doesn't fade, it clings in the hair. I hate catching a smell and feel worried others will. This smells way too sweet. It's like chocolate and old ladys. People complimented my hair and ask what I've been using to make it look so good and as soon as I tell them, they wrinkle their nose and politely tell me that they will not use pureology because they have some of the worst smells. My room mate, I offered to let her use some after she felt my hair exclaiming it was so soft, I told her what it was, she smelled my hair, coughed, and said, "sorry, I couldn't smell like that all day." My husband hated that it stinks up our pillows. I wonder if I can stand the smell and headaches long enough to continue to use it. I love the way it feels, but hate using it. I get kinda bummed every time I wash my hair with it because everyone hated the smell.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed I tried to change from the Essential Repair that this "replaced" and it didn't work for my hair. Plus, I loved the smell of Essential Repair. Why would they take away a good product? Bring it back. Now I use a different brand of hair care.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works for me I have been using this for a couple years as my daughter hated the smell of Aveda products. I have read many comments on the smell and I am not understanding why. This is not a perfume smelling shampoo / conditioner and one I can use without it giving me a headache from the scents. My stylist comments on how healthy my hair is, so it must be doing well for me. I also use the leave in split end treatment on my ends. It is a bit pricey but then again, you don't need much at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely the right choice for me. I've always used salon quality hair products, but am so glad that my stylist pointed this product out to me. I color to cover gray and do so often since my hair is resistant to color. Reading the other reviews this may not be for some people, but it is definitely for me. The health, texture and look of my hair are so much improved that I have let it grow out to shoulder length instead of having to cut off the damaged ends all the time. It has worked so well for me that I have given away small amounts and trial sizes to several of my friends just to get them to try it. Several of them have now switched to Pureology also. I would say the same to anyone: If you have any issue with your hair, shop the products that look most appropriate for you and AT LEAST try them. I would venture to say that, in most cases, you will not be disappointed. A little does go a long way. Because of this, Pureology has turned out to be less costly than the product line I was using before.
